The Home Lands Project
After 20 years on the road, we return to where it all began, Tres Orejas, NM. To the land stewarded by Jaya for over 40 years of homesteading in the desert; building from the earth, collecting treasures for reuse, growing food, raising children, tending goats and chicken, hosting drum circles, and always giving community a place to land and be fed. We honor this legacy in collaboration with the community Tribal Vision has fostered along with the visions, skills, offerings, sounds, and prayers we bring.
We invite you to join us in building a community homeland that reflects where we are and who we are. Tribal Vision 2026 will consist of building two casitas; one out of adobe bricks and one out of hyperadobe, honoring both the building tradition of this land and modern evolutions of adobe building. This site will be a demonstration site for the collective knowledge we have gathered; from including water catchment systems in the shower house to planting trees next to our outhouses. We invite the community into this blueprint, to build examples of life ways that honor the land we are on.
Community Projects
Mud the Mesa
One of Taos’ most known legacies is the ongoing culture of natural building. E.A.R.T.H. 501(c)3 is sponsoring the building of two casitas at Tribal Vision to house the stewards that stay when the festival leaves. These builds will be the first of many tiny homes built at Jaya’s and beyond to support low income housing, community members from afar, building or arts residencies, and more.
Responsible Land Management
As inhabitants of the Rio Grande Watershed, learning how to care for the waters we depend on in the way they have been by the ancient peoples of this land is essential to our role as current inhabitants of this land. We will be working higher up in the watershed on Tres Orejas with Sacred Water Mountain Society.
Love kitchen
Robi is back with Love Kitchen feeding the people with delicious, nutritious, and free food for all! Onsite we will be building a permanent outdoor kitchen to support the health and ease of our wonderful chefs! Bring bulk foods, lend a hand in the kitchen, do dishes, help keep it running.

9.4.2026 Foundations Down
Our adobe casita builds are led by Kenny Quinn and Niels deJong. The team broke ground the first week of September to dig the foundations and start the journey to build two 120 square foot tiny homes.
Kenny Quinn is an earth and sun builder stacking hyperadobe earth bags to form the walls. Niels deJong is using compressed earth adobe bricks to build a circular casita.
The foundations for both tiny houses will have only 10-15% cement enabling inhabitants to stay connected to the earth below. This method also avoids outsourcing a cement mixer and laying 100% foreign materials between the inhabitant's feet and the earth.
We are choosing locations closest to the self propagating forests of locust and elm trees so that the water usage of occupants and run off are supporting the greening of the land rather than building in a way that furthers desertification.
